4 Nissan Models Earn IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK Recognition

4 Nissan Models Earn IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK Recognition | Toronto, ON

Nissan is raising the bar for safety in its lineup. This carmaker recently received recognition from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for an impressive total of four models.

The 2021 Nissan Rogue, 2021 Nissan Maxima, and 2021 Nissan Altima all earned the IIHS’s highest possible safety score of TOP SAFETY PICK+. The 2021 Nissan Sentra earned a TOP SAFETY PICK recognition when it’s equipped with certain headlights.

Each of these models come standard with Nissan Safety Shield® 360, the brand’s suite of driver-assistance features. This system uses a combination of cameras, radar, and sonar to help raise the driver’s awareness out on the road. The Rogue and the Sentra each have the most standard safety features in their respective classes.

To get a TOP SAFETY PICK or TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, a vehicle must achieve the highest rating of “Good” in all six IIHS crashworthiness tests. These tests include driver- and passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints. These award winners must also have a front crash prevention system that earns a “Superior” or “Advanced” rating for both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian tests.

The TOP SAFETY PICK+ award is given to those models with standard “Good” or “Acceptable” headlights across all trim levels and packages, while TOP SAFETY PICK vehicles must come available with “Good” or “Acceptable” headlights.

For a vehicle you can trust when the going gets tough, turn to Nissan. Here at Nissan Downtown in Toronto, we have all four IIHS award-winning vehicles in stock, and we invite you to contact us and set up a test drive in the one that best meets your needs.

The 2021 Nissan KICKS® lives up to the model’s reputation for offering premium features at an affordable price. This compact crossover has undergone a significant refresh for the new model year, offering new exterior styling, a sophisticated interior, and better connectivity than before.

The 2021 KICKS® lineup will offer three models to choose from: S, SV, and SR. It will also come available with one new package: the Premium Package.

On the outside, the design of the new KICKS® is inspired by the festive spirit of Rio de Janeiro. Its city-sized exterior offers easy manoeuvrability, while its front bumper design uses a new “Double V-motion” grille to help the KICKS® look more like an SUV. It also has new headlights and three new exterior colours and three new two-tone paint schemes.

Inside the KICKS®, you will find a more refined design with silver accents being replaced by a combination of subdued silver and black. New ® seating materials offer better colour, and the SR Premium Package adds Prima-Tex™ leatherette-appointed seating with a three-tone design and stitching.

The centrally mounted seven-inch colour touch screen is a hub for the Nissan infotainment system, offering standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration. You can even upgrade to an 8-inch display. For the 2021 model year, SV and SR models also come standard with Intelligent Cruise Control.

The 2021 KICKS® will arrive soon at Nissan Downtown in Toronto, and you’re invited to stop by and check it out.
