Nissan Versa Wins “Best Car for the Money” Honour

Nissan Versa Wins “Best Car for the Money” Honour | Toronto, ON

Every year, U.S. News & World Report releases its “Best Cars for the Money” list, comprised of vehicles across various segments. This year, the Nissan Versa was named the top choice in the Subcompact Cat category.

“It’s getting more and more difficult to find a quality subcompact car, but the Nissan Versa delivers all of the attributes needed to win our Best Subcompact Car for the Money award,” said Jim Sharifi, managing editor of U.S. News Best Cars. “The Versa sits at the top of our rankings, with great fuel economy, ample cargo space and a well-built interior. It’s also competitively priced, and low ownership costs make the Versa a strong value over the long haul.”

This is the second time the Versa has been named the best by U.S. News thanks to its outstanding ownership experience and overall value. Starting at just $16,798, the 2022 Versa is equipped with the most standard safety technology in its class. Not to mention, you can expect to get fuel ratings as low as 6.7 L/100 km combined — thus saving you money at the gas pump, too.[2]

Other than the hard facts, U.S. News turns to companies like TrueCar and Vincentric for data on cost of ownership as well as reviews from the automotive press. But you don’t have to take their word for it. You can experience the true value of the 2022 Nissan Versa for yourself by contacting our team at Nissan Downtown in Toronto, Ontario.

4 Nissan Models Earn IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK Recognition

4 Nissan Models Earn IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK Recognition | Toronto, ON

Nissan is raising the bar for safety in its lineup. This carmaker recently received recognition from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for an impressive total of four models.

The 2021 Nissan Rogue, 2021 Nissan Maxima, and 2021 Nissan Altima all earned the IIHS’s highest possible safety score of TOP SAFETY PICK+. The 2021 Nissan Sentra earned a TOP SAFETY PICK recognition when it’s equipped with certain headlights.

Each of these models come standard with Nissan Safety Shield® 360, the brand’s suite of driver-assistance features. This system uses a combination of cameras, radar, and sonar to help raise the driver’s awareness out on the road. The Rogue and the Sentra each have the most standard safety features in their respective classes.

To get a TOP SAFETY PICK or TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, a vehicle must achieve the highest rating of “Good” in all six IIHS crashworthiness tests. These tests include driver- and passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints. These award winners must also have a front crash prevention system that earns a “Superior” or “Advanced” rating for both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian tests.

The TOP SAFETY PICK+ award is given to those models with standard “Good” or “Acceptable” headlights across all trim levels and packages, while TOP SAFETY PICK vehicles must come available with “Good” or “Acceptable” headlights.

For a vehicle you can trust when the going gets tough, turn to Nissan. Here at Nissan Downtown in Toronto, we have all four IIHS award-winning vehicles in stock, and we invite you to contact us and set up a test drive in the one that best meets your needs.

Get ready, performance-vehicle fans — Nissan recently unveiled the all-new Nissan Z Proto, showing off a plan to launch a new generation of legendary sports cars.

“The Z represents the joy of driving in its purest form and has helped shape Nissan’s DNA as a passionate, innovative challenger,” said Nissan CEO Makoto Uchida. “Ever since the first generation, it has captured the hearts of car enthusiasts all over the world. That’s why we’re so excited today to be able to say to them: Yes, the next one is coming!”

For the newest iteration of the Z sports car, Nissan will take design inspiration from the past — but put a modern spin on it. The Z Proto features an attractive exterior design that is highlighted by bright yellow pearlescent paint. Its teardrop-shaped LED headlights and the shape of its hood are all reminiscent of the original Z, while its sculpted lines and angular roof give it a more futuristic silhouette.

Inside, the sports car blends innovative technologies with vintage design. It comes with yellow accents throughout with stitching on the instrument panel and special accent piping.

Under the hood, the Z Proto packs a punch. It comes with a twin-turbocharged V6 engine that is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. There’s no word yet as to the performance numbers, but it will certainly be impressive, solely based on the Z heritage.

The Z Proto is one of ten new Nissan models that the brand will show off throughout North American in the next 20 months. Other upcoming models — coming soon to Nissan Downtown in Toronto — include the Sentra, the Rogue, and the all-new, all-electric Ariya crossover.
