Autumn Car Care for Your Nissan

Autumn Car Care for Your Nissan | Toronto, ON

As the weather starts to change here in Toronto, one thing you’ll want to consider is checking in on your Nissan. Autumn car care is important, and we’ve got some tips to ensure that your car keeps running for years to come.

Tire tread and inflation

If it starts to rain or snow, your car’s tires will need traction to keep you safely on the road. Traction is ideal when the tires have enough tread and are properly inflated. You can typically find the PSI for the tires in the driver’s door jamb or the owner’s manual.

Check the battery

Just as cold weather can affect your car’s battery, extreme heat can, too. After a brutal summer, you’ll want to open the hood and see if the battery is running well. You can bring your vehicle to our team at Nissan Downtown to check this if you’re not sure how to do so.

Prepare your HVAC system

Another component that has likely been working hard this summer is your HVAC, or A/C, system. This same system also works to keep you warm in the fall and winter. The last thing you want is to feel cool air when it’s cold outside, so you should have the HVAC system checked by our team if you think it’s not working well.

If your Nissan vehicle needs some routine maintenance or if you just have any general questions, feel free to contact our team or schedule an appointment with us at Nissan Downtown in Toronto, Ontario.

Nissan Versa Wins “Best Car for the Money” Honour

Nissan Versa Wins “Best Car for the Money” Honour | Toronto, ON

Every year, U.S. News & World Report releases its “Best Cars for the Money” list, comprised of vehicles across various segments. This year, the Nissan Versa was named the top choice in the Subcompact Cat category.

“It’s getting more and more difficult to find a quality subcompact car, but the Nissan Versa delivers all of the attributes needed to win our Best Subcompact Car for the Money award,” said Jim Sharifi, managing editor of U.S. News Best Cars. “The Versa sits at the top of our rankings, with great fuel economy, ample cargo space and a well-built interior. It’s also competitively priced, and low ownership costs make the Versa a strong value over the long haul.”

This is the second time the Versa has been named the best by U.S. News thanks to its outstanding ownership experience and overall value. Starting at just $16,798, the 2022 Versa is equipped with the most standard safety technology in its class. Not to mention, you can expect to get fuel ratings as low as 6.7 L/100 km combined — thus saving you money at the gas pump, too.[2]

Other than the hard facts, U.S. News turns to companies like TrueCar and Vincentric for data on cost of ownership as well as reviews from the automotive press. But you don’t have to take their word for it. You can experience the true value of the 2022 Nissan Versa for yourself by contacting our team at Nissan Downtown in Toronto, Ontario.

Nissan Wins Newsweek Best Car Lineup Award

Nissan Wins Newsweek Best Car Lineup Award | Toronto, ON

For several decades, Newsweek has informed the world of current events and provided insights on a variety of topics, including the automotive industry. In the first-ever Newsweek Auto Awards, Nissan was named as the “Best Car Lineup.”

“Nissan’s car lineup continues to offer sedan buyers a lot of what they are looking for. Versa, Sentra, Altima, LEAF and Maxima are high-quality models with budget-friendly price tags and an impressive roster of standard and available safety and driver-assist features,” said Eileen Falkenberg-Hull, senior editor of Autos at Newsweek.

To determine the best lineups, Newsweek looked at a variety of factors. First, the publication assessed individual vehicles for their driving feel as well as its standard and available features. When it came time to rate brand lineups, Newsweek editors looked at overall offerings of each automaker and took notice of any notable changes for the latest year.

The Nissan car lineup is one of the largest available today, offering smaller options like the Versa and Sentra as well as the electric LEAF and the luxurious Maxima. Falkenberg-Hull also pointed out that the debut of the 2023 Nissan Z and the existing GT-R make the Nissan lineup exceptionally exciting for racing fans.

The biggest update to the 2022 Nissan Rogue is the introduction of the new available 1.5-litre, three-cylinder VC-Turbo engine. The engine boasts 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, which is an 11% and 24% increase, respectively, over the outgoing engine.

The VC-Turbo engine is paired to a new generation Xtronic transmission that has a 17 percent wider gear ratio and 32 percent lower friction than its predecessor. Working together, the powertrain can achieve 7.6 L/100 km combined with available all-wheel drive.[1]

The 1.5-liter engine is available on SV, SL, and Platinum models, while S models get a 2.5-liter engine with 181 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque.
